After we had get the task to wright a seminar paper we had chosen to work at a regional theme and if posible we wanted to wright something about Eisenberg. Upon we had made some inquiries about Eisenberg and interesting themes in connection with that town, we found out, that there were only a few information about the wall of Eisenberg. So we decided to take this wall for our work. We wanted to found out more about it´s history, conformation and it´s run. In connection with that we also research into the history of Eisenberg.

While working we musst see that there were not many dokuments we found on our one. We determine that it would be better to call Mr Petermann, the local archeologist and director of the museum of local history, to help us finding information about our theme. Furthermore we had made excursions to get to know wich parts of the wall were sill there. Item we made some interviews with members of the historical assiciation of Eisenberg and appraise cards, pictures, chronicle and graphics wich existe about the wall and history of our district town. Despite to all the information wich were not safe, we had get enough material to describe the run of the wall very detailed.

We found out, that the wall was build under the margrave Otto the rich around 1172. The matherial for it´s build was sandstone from the surrounding. The cause of building is not realy cleared because of unsafe sources so that we only can give an accound of what stands there and explain some own ideas.

The wall had have four gates to every direction to protect Eisenberg better against enemies wich were damaged in the first half of the 19th century like the rest of this wall.

Also we can not decribe the accurately run of the wall, because of the doubtfull sources. In our remarks to that capitals we based although on this information and explicate many of our presumptions we made during our work. Especialy in the range of the castel of Eisenberg the run can not be reproduce clearly because of wanting evidence.

But all in all we think we had given a good summary of the hole material we have found and our own ideas.
